This game is fantastic and endlessly entertaining. The soundtrack is killer and the combos you string together are just as good as any AAA title. I spend hours dying and retrying not because the game is cruel, but because I'm trying to string together the perfect kill chains. It's just so satisfying to catch one guy and throw him into the next and watch them both explode. Also, my computer is a potato and this game runs fine, which is really nice these days.. REALLY fun game! If you've ever wanted to be a super strong genetically enhanced rampaging primate than this game is the perfect thing for you!The art in this game is delightful, the visual style is both aesthetic yet brutal (but without being gross or anything), and the reactive music allows you to really get into the groove of your rampage. Every enemy death is accompanied by a sting of jazz drums, and even the general beat of the music matches very well with the running pace of the ape. And I haven't even touched on the actual gameplay yet; there are loads of fun tactics for you to figure out to overcome the odds and escape your human captors, I don't wanna spoil too much, just know there are a multitude of ways to make your opponents meet their maker, and you're gonna be exploiting your enemy's dumb tactics a fair bit. Oh and not to mention how quick everything is, it really is an awesome and fast-paced game, complete with split-second decisions and little room for mistakes. The nice part about this is once you get into it, you really do get into it and your reflexes get super-on-point and swift to aim. And if you're a fan of an even bigger challenge then keep in mind there is a hard mode which I yet to beat. With all this in mind I'd say this unique game is definitely worth your money. Go bananas.. A short, simple, polished top down action experiance, but well worth the price tag. While it's short the core gameplay is perfect. Slam enemies into things, or other enemies so hard they both instagib. Sometimes it's better to run amok, other times it's better to slow down grab a human shield, or just charge past enemies before they can get a bead on you.The variety of enemies makes the game more challenging, and the levels, paths, and enemy placement changes every time you die, so it keeps the game from getting stale, and keeping you thinking on your feet. All of it comes together with a really unique art style, and excellent reactive soundtrack, that gets you in that zen of killing mode. While there could be more levels, the fact that they're different everytime you play them, kinda makes it a moot point.. Funney Monke. You play as the spirit of Harambe, back from the dead seeking revenge. APE OUT is an small quirky little game that is on the whole a lot of fun. You play as an ape, who has been taken captive by some unnamed evil dudes and who for some reason or another have locked you up. Your goal is to escape. Standing in your way is differing enemy types who will try and kill you. Kill them before they kill you leaving them a bloody smear on the wall.First the larger good section. The game is simple but incredibly rewarding. The controls are good on a controller, I haven't tested the PC but I think this is a game to play on a controller. The game runs smooth and I did not encounter any issues. However some people have so bare that in mind. The gore is satisfying but does not intrude on the game as a whole so it can be completely ignored if you want to. The soundtrack is incredible. It has a core of jazz, but the way the game handles it is what makes it special. It will go from a few small drums at the start of a level, and then when you're running from 10 men with shotguns it sounds like an actual ape has been given a drum set, and is just hitting everything at once in the best possible way. The sound is also great, with a lot of satisfying splats as you push someone to there death. The levels for the most part are balanced and fun. The same with enemy types. Both progressively get harder as you play through the game. In terms of game modes there is a campaign which takes around 2 hours to complete on normal difficulty. However replaying the game on the harder difficulty is where the game really shines and this adds between 4-6 hours of gameplay depending on if you suck as much as I do. Three is also an arcade mode which can be fun. There are a couple of minor complaints that I have with the game. First this is not a real complaint but the controls are simplistic and they do not change much during the game. This does not matter to me, but might annoy some. If you diid not replay the game it would have very little content, however you should definately replay this game. Oh and my last complaint is simply abandon ship on hard. No other words. This is a fantastic game. We need these types of games. Developed by a grand total of one person. There is no microtransactions or DLC (yet) and no excessive grinding. And for the price of just under 11 British pounds. This game is most definitely a buy for me.. ACTION gameplay GREAT soundtrackFAST!
